Our Oracle Cloud Applications Implementation Methodology

ChainSys believes in the iterative and incremental approach of Oracle Unified Methodology (OUM) for Cloud Applications, which is far better than waterfall approach. The requirement gathering is done using an instance with all the basic setups done beating the transition approach. This stands up as a big differentiation and solves the biggest challenge of understanding the business processes right at the beginning of the project. It helps to visualize the client processes on the Oracle Cloud Applications from the starting phase of the project itself. It is a lightweight approach of deploying Cloud Services with a focus on implementing out-of-the-box functionality.

Project Design

We start with white boarding the project plan and setting the processes for governing the execution of the project. Key Business Decisions (KBDs) are taken before Project Initiation.

  • Prepare data migration strategy
  • Set the expectations and agree on the project milestones entry and exit criteria.
  • Success of any IT project depends on the adoption of the Application by the users. We believe in detailed training and handholding users to enable them to use the Cloud Apps  effectively 
  • Project Documentation - Risk/Opportunity Register, Issue Tracker, Training Tracker, Test Defect Tracker, Milestone Delivery Tracker are used to monitor the project progress at regular intervals
  • We work closely with the Business Stakeholders to collect and analyze MIS reporting needs, design the organization structure and chart of accounts (CoA)
  • In Cloud Applications Implementations, the application environment strategy is key to optimize usage of the Applications


The system is demonstrated based on the Configuration workbook filled by the business team. The purpose of the system demonstration is to:

  • Provide system walk through of prototype solution with client specific data. Provide an integrated view of new system functionalities
  • Gather client feedback, input and clarifications to rebuild the configuration for user acceptance testing (UAT)


Validate phase is the third phase in the OUM Cloud Applications implementation. During this phase, all the configurations are validated. Provide training using "train the trainer" approach. Key activities in this phase include:

  • Validate Configurations
  • Update Setups
  • Data loading and data validations
  • Conduct process playback sessions
  • Conduct "Train the Trainer" workshops


The transition phase is the fourth phase in the OUM Cloud Application Services Implementation approach. During this phase, all the migration activities to the production instance will be done

  • Migration of configurations (setups) to production.
  • Load and validate master and transactional data in the production instance
  • Conduct final validation review
  • Go Live


The realization phase is the final phase in the OUM Cloud Application Services Implementation approach. The users register the issues they are facing while conducting their business using the new applications. We work closely to fix the issues including the root cause. Documentation of fixes carried out.
